The fruit fly is a key pest of Washington Navel Orange in Egypt, leading to significant economic losses due to yield reduction. This study evaluated the efficacy of lemon peel water extract (LPWE) and its Zinc nanoparticle formulation (LPWE-ZnNPs) as eco-friendly alternatives to synthetic insecticides. Conducted during the 2020 and 2021 seasons at Badaway, Al-Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt, on 20-year-old Washington Navel Orange trees. The experiment used a completely randomized block design with four spraying treatments: control (tap water), lambda-cyhalothrin (1 ml/L), LPWE (2%), and LPWE-ZnNPs. Treatments were applied on 1st week of September and repeated six times at 15-day intervals. Results showed that LPWE-ZnNPs treatment significantly reduced fruit fly infestation and increased yield compared to other treatments and the control. This treatment offers a promising alternative for fruit fly management in Washington Navel Orange orchards.
